Valerie, This is how we decorated in our kitchen. Anything look familiar, Valerie? Thanks to you, we have some beautiful items all throughout our home.

All hail the gingy-est of all Gingerbread Queens! I’m so grateful for my ever-increasing confection collection. My VPH gingerbread will be posing all over my little kitchen soon! πŸ€ŽπŸ’—πŸ˜˜

The gingerbread decorative backdrop is sold out. I would love to add it to my vignette.

One of my favorite Thanksgiving traditions is having a slice (or twoπŸ˜‰) of my mother-in-laws pumpkin chiffon pie. My boys affectionately referred to her as Grandmillie and although she is no longer with us, her pie is a Thanksgiving tradition at our table.
What are some of your favorite Thanksgiving traditions?

Looks delicious. My mother is 84. Her yeast rolls are legendary. She isn't able to make them on her own anymore, so the day before her granddaughters go to her house and help her.

Dont you usually post a shortbread cookie recipe? Would like that one

Get her book. It’s a good one. Val’s recipes are in it.

I love love love the look of your fresh balsam wreaths and other collections. Only one problem Valerie, I am allergic to all of it. I cannot even have a balsam or pine candle!! I do, however; have your artificial ones. I have the wonderful smells of cinnamon and gingerbread from Harry Slatkin. I love all of your decorations. You make the holidays fun and festive πŸŽ…πŸ»πŸ§‘πŸ»‍πŸŽ„β€οΈπŸ’š

Ordered mine in July, bought my first one last year and loved it so I bought another one this year!!!!!

i get the Fresh Balsam wreath and put it around my faux tree base (bottom trunk) section. Valerie Parr Hill you do an excellent job on the wreath and swag.

Sweet Corn Casserole

My friend, Elena shared this recipe with me years ago and it’s been a β€œmust serve side” for Thanksgiving ever since.
I know your family will enjoy it too!

Ingredients
14.75 oz can of Cream-style Corn
15.25 oz can Whole Kernel Corn - drained
8.5 oz Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix
8 oz sour cream
1 stick butter - melted
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (one cup for batter, one cup for topping)

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Combine all ingredients in a bowl, except for 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese.
Pour into greased 9” x 13” casserole dish
Bake uncovered for 45 minutes
Top with reserved cup of cheddar cheese. Bake for additional 10-15 minutes, until the top begins to brown.

You can make this ahead and bake the day of (don’t add shredded cheese to the top). Simply combine the ingredients, pour into the greased casserole dish, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Then allow it to come to room temperature before baking as directed.

Enjoy!

I make that recipe but don’t add the cheese and it is still delicious!

Do not like the "Jiffy" brand at all – too sweet.

I'll pass. Not healthy!!

Good morning Valerie and everyone. Grateful for waking up and the sun shining thru my windows and my family. Blessings

Good morning. Grateful for family and how our family pulls together to help each other out in rough patches. God is Good!

More than anything, I’m grateful for my salvation and for God’s love, grace, and mercy. I’m also grateful for my family, my friends, and my health. I’m truly blessed.
